What else
- Waiting end of August to be back to France and see my family...
- 'Summer' is almost over here .... ;(
- It is migraines' week.... ;(
.
Something is missing.....ah...Education!
-the shorter the merer: i can t even describe their skirts as skirts, so tiny it looks more like a belt! I m talking about these kind of dresses (see below) the one u re supposed to wear at the beach not in city center in Dublin! As for the top, more cleavage u have the better is, I saw a 16 years girl with a cleavage omg u could almost see her navel!

- the more flashier the better, there is a new trend, Reebok commercialize some 80 s look shoes, so Penneys (cheap store) provide some cheap clothes same color (till the underwear, yep). One was wearing a tiny short and top and shoes in yellow, looks like a giant streetlight, she could illuminate the entire city with.

- the tanner the better, u know we don t have sun here, well we all looks like aspirine ... white, but it ain t possible for teenager, specially if u go to pharmacy the first thing u see: BIG DISCOUNT, Do u wanna have the best look ever...look like u re coming from 3 months in Spain. BYE the Fake Tan Spray, 50% discount YEAH!!!!! The problem is, they don t know how to put it.... nope, u can see their legs with different color, like they are dirty and u want to wash them, I don t know why nobody tells them! Even on the face, like these one I found on Internet, it s comon here. I rather stay white than look like that.
And on top of that, there is the Education! I ve been looking, I can t find it! The teenagers I describe earlier are also so not educate, parents are busy at the bar drinking beers, while their kids are hanging around in the street. I don t know at their age we were doing sports activities, hanging out to a friend house! But not on the street, I saw some 12 years kids outside around 11 on wednesday during school week! I ll never leave my kids on the street at 12!Some kids, asked me to buy some drinks for them, they were less than 14 years old. 3 months ago, in south of Dublin, two teenagers 16 and 17 asked 2 polish guys to buy some alcohol, they refused, the teenagers followed them and killed them with screwdrivers on the head! Seriously!
I know that drinking is part of the culture in Ireland, however there is a biggest concern, u don t drink like an adult at 12!!!!
The way they talked, the louder the better, swearing is not a problem, if u stare them, man u d better walk away pretty fast, insulting u, the F word is like a ponctuation in their vocabulary, they re using it at least once per sentence! Always lookin for trouble, they have nothing better to do! Seems that parents don t care, and sometimes when u look at the parents, boys, the mother is wearing pretty much the same outfit that their daughters, and seriously it s already vulgare on a girl but on a 40+ with the outfit I described earlier...nightmare!
Last time, I was at the cinema, they are out of control, they re throwing popcorn everywhere, they re answering phone during the movie, they re laughing, walking around, don t care about others. And when I leave the cinema, see the guys working for the cine with bin bag to clean the room, I feel sorry for them. I don t say we don t have knackers in France, but in the cine, they don t throw pop corn, neither speak and disturb people, why? because they paid for the movie, and for the popcorn and they dont want to waist it!!!! but here, who cares!!!!!!!!
Of course, all the teenagers are not like that, but unfortunately because they are noiser than the others, u remember them more ;(
How are the teenagers in ur country? fashion? education?

From generation to generation...
That s her, with me ;) first time I opened my eyes. The pic was took by my dad, who got the 'pic virus' from his mum. It s quite funny though, when my mum was about to give birth, my dad asked to wait a bit more so he could arrange the lights to take the best pics of me (he was good friend with the doctor) and when my mum was about to push my dad yelled 'WAIT!!! I forgot to put the film!' i have to say I was in hurry to get out, I was born 1 month before the due date!I start using the 'plastic camera'
when I was 14 I guess, every time I come home, I can see a pile of pics that my mum asked every time to clean it, but i can t get rid of it, and of course my mum does not have a scanner to scan them all! I really start taking pics with the digital camera appears, my first one, was a loosy HP that I could afford my few money! But I guess the real thing that made me want to take pictures was because of my dad s amazing shots. Years ago, he was using the 'reflex' camera with film, developing them in the 'dark room', and I think the picture that touch me the most is the one he made with my mum and I:
I simply love it, we re both eating crackers, it was an instant moment, we weren t posing on it... i can t even explain what i feel, but it is my fav pic! Now last year, I finally made it, I bought my first Nikon D40 which i m very proud of, u can find all my pics on my SMUGMUG! I hope I ll be able to make great shots, i d love to be a photographer.
I guess, this is one passion I share with my grandma and my dad:

i m happy about it, but we don t have all the same passions of course. Do u guys share a passion with a relative? Which one?

Only 2 damn months to live.....
Today I talked to my mum on the phone, she told me, her best friend is dying. I know she has a lung cancer and she has been fighting it brilliantly the past 2 years, she has done so many things after she diagnosed with this f... cancer, she started playing golf, working as a volunteer to provide meals for poor people. The disease never left, it just stop growing for a while, until recently...this week, a surgeon had to say to her that she has no longer than 2 months to live.... she is 50... how can u...how do u deal with that? I was thinking, I dunno, I ll try to do one more thing, going somewhere and do sky diving, but she can t, she s too fragile for that... which i think it s even worse... sitting in a house...waiting to die.... I have no clue what would I do, If I was her but just by knowing it I feel so low and angry, life is not always fair, there is some evil people who can live in perfect health while somebody who spent her all life helping people (she s a nurse) is dying like that. I will see her in two weeks, my mum already warned me, she changed a lot, she s not the funny energetic person anymore....What would u do if u had only two months?Thursday, August 28, 2008 | | 10 Comments
Debate: Life is easier for men
MAN ;)

WOMAN: Though I would not agree with the tiny 'driving skill' I believe I am an excellent driver ;)

Mister Toastmater, Madame President, Fellow Toastmasters, Welcome guests and Ladies Toastmasters(I generally don t mention Ladies when doing a speech but it was for the good cause).
Life is easier for men well Ladies and Gentlemen, this is not a question, this is a FACT.
the INSEE, one of the biggest survey company showed the difference of salary between woman and man. In overall, net salary 20% of difference, 20. Let me ask you a question...WHY? One of the reason is because well you know you might get pregnant... oh ok, thanks to the small contribution of the gentleman (sorry ;) indeed we can but who's gonna carry the baby for 9 months, gain weight, be in pain during the birth... the woman!
Now, as a woman, you want to please your husband, he wants to go camping, do you think he s going to choose a camping based on your needs
(Woman) 'euh honey, where are the bathroom?',
(Man) "Bathroom!!!, this is a camping ok, enjoy the nature"
No need rite, hey here is a tree grant! zip (turned my back, whistle and pretend to) however for a woman, in case your did not noticed, it s over there (show the knees) that our trouser are going to be, so a tree wont fit!
How about waxing, how many hours we spent shaving our legs, arms and the rest, what would he say if we don't
(Man) 'OMG that's gross, don't you wanna shave your legs, it s good for you honey'.
Do we complain about the fact that you guys have hair everywhere, here (show legs), here (show chest), here (show nose, ear) even sometimes here (show the back).
Even when we are kids, life is easier for boy, what do u get for Xmas, a GI JO to play tough, as for girls, was looking on Argos recently u can get a vacuum cleaner!!!
When a man is sick, OMG this is the end of the world.
(Man) 'Look I cut my finger with a paper, ahhhh i m bleeding, arfffff i m dying..... '
Don t you think we have enough with the kids. Don t do that, don't touch that, not in front of the kids, don t wear that.
Speaking of wearing: an outfit for a man during a weekday: suit, shirt, tie, socks and shoes, (Man) 'omg honey can you tell which tie should i match with my shirt.'
An outfit for a woman during a weekday: top plus bottom, matching socks and shoes, proper underwear underneath to avoid nasty comments, purse, make up, perfume and hair done.
An outfit for a man during weekend: whatever shirt, jeans and sport shoes.
For a woman: if you dare wearing that kind of training outfit for gym, your husband,
(Man) 'euh honey you re not going out like that rite, you re going to change before!'
One of the worst thing would be, you are going back home it is late, you are exhausted because you have been working like your husband, you did not even remove your shoes you can hear your husband sitting on the coach watching tv: 'what s up for diner?'
Did it never occur to you that you can cook: 'here is the fridge and the oven, let me introduce you to the kitchen.' And in case, he finally decided to cook, he will mess up completely the entire kitchen and will say to you: 'well I cooked u clean now!'
Of course I can go on and on with even more example on how life is easier for men like they don t or rarely have sexual harassment, marital fight, macho joke but to conclude my speech, let me give you a quote from Charlotte Whitthon, Former Mayer of Ottawa
“Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult.”
So, for all the women here and the men who are brave enough and smart ;) to face the truth, you MUST vote in favor of this motion.
So, what do think, easier for men..women...? But Remember...

Festival of World Cultures + Tagged ;)
We had to hit back home earlier because of Rohit, who freshly came from sunny India to rainny cold Dublin for 6 weeks was freazin cold, my feet were also in a bad shape and since I had to get back the next it was time to leave.
The next day, I was really lookin forward because of Sergent Garcia, great half french half spanish singer who was about to perform on the stage and thanks god we got a perfect sunny not too hot weather!!!!! Before that, we saw many differents workshops, or these crazy guys who disguised themselves and stand up for hours outside trying to get money for their courage (I would not do that myself, 4 hours straight without moving.... kill me now).
We finish though we a great performance by Sergent Garcia.
We went back home, tired, exhausted! Because I was a volunteer they gave me a small thingy that can mesure how many foot steps I did, and listen to this I did for sunday only, 24 578 foot steps, that s right!! I was very impressed. Today, since it was a day at work, and I m spending most of the time, my ass on a chair, I did only 1 670 foot steps ;( Anyway, overall it was a great weekend!!!!!!
=============================
TAGGED, that s right, for the first time thanks to --xh-- I have beeeeeeeeeen tagged! So i m very proud to do my first tag ;) so --xh-- tagged me recently with a "list-5-of-ur-fav-quotes" tag. Actually i don t really have favourite quotes except 1, so I went on site to see some quotes and here the ones I selected:
1) 'homme qui rit a moitié dans son lit' which mean 'Man who laughs halfway through ur bed,' i found it funny because i m not too bad making men laugh but it does not mean they will actually managed their full way to my bed;) (the quote is valid for woman as well ;)
2)'It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all' and maaan I have lots of ideas ;) does not mean all of them are feasable.
3)'I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.' Fred allen, so true!
4)'I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens. ' Woody Allen, I just don t want to suffer, who want it anyway!
5)Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humor to console him for what he is. Francis Bacon, oh man me having lots of imagination and sense of humor...dunno what to think now ;(
As usual, I am not tagging anyone, and u know why ;)

Complaint department is open... The EVIL Pigeon!

I m living in Ireland, which is one of my recurrent complaint topic, including the weather ,which sucks btw, the food, I am not even gonna comment on this one, because talking gastronomy in Ireland could be resumed by 'Cuisine de France' which is for me passes all understanding... Even at work, we have free food for lunch, and usually i m eating with French people, to speak french (I m working in a team that cover 30+ languages, with people from everywhere), we will complained about the food, usually we have each day a different food recipe from different countries. When it s the day for French recipes, u can be sure that the Complaints Department is open till late. Most of the time when I complained, I m not attacking anybody in general, it s always 'them', nobody in particular, and I would not dare going to see the Chef telling that 'Potatoes Boulanger' never ever exist as a french recipe ....ever, no, cause I remember that it is free food and it s much better than my previous company.
The recent topic were the recurrent workship in front of my house by the yellow/orange men, the one wearing a flashy jacket to be sure drunk drivers will see them before actually driving on to them. Why do they have to make a freakin hole in front of my house from 8 to 11PM, actually it s the 3rd hole this week. Using crazy machine to make the most possible noise. The last 2 days, I was already in bed and was too tired to change clothes (yeah, I won t be credible talkin to them in my pyjamas...) go downstairs under the rain for what, telling them to stop, right like they re gonna listen to me. So, today, I was out, and i decided to talk to them, to see at least if I had any reasons to hate them for making wait til 11 to finally sleep. They told they have to do it the evening to avoid traffic jam during the day, which understandable, and they were actually feeling sorry for me, apologizing for disturbing me, it was quite unexpected, but I asked nicely ;) Does not mean they re not gonna come back tomorrow.
So why did I wrote this post about complaints, it s because of THE pigeon! The Evil or Stupid Pigeon, I m not too sure if they are evil or stupid. Maybe, they have a thing against me, I always have the ugliest pigeon ever coming next to me, sometimes he s missing a leg or a piece of the leg, sometimes he has the worst color ever like he s coming from the exhaust pipe of a vehicle, I dunno, without of course forgetting the most ridiculous way to walk, bouncing head from front to back, then back to front, then front to back etc etc....so for that, they really look stupid, now today on my way, I got so closed to received the bombshell from a pigeon. Usually, because I have some friends wo received some friendly pigeon s shit on their shirt, I AVOID walking to close from a small building, why? because most of time, you always have the back of the pigeon hanging out from the roof, why do they have to do that, can t they do it the other way around, it s not like they re gonna shit on their feet (when they have them) anyway? Is this some kind of vengeance, when kids scared them on the street or if they don t get food from us, by some kind of anger they will shit on our car windows, or if they doing it evil on our hair our shirts? why? So, today, I avoid it really close, still don t know how, I think I can feel the evil pigeon, I have probably some kind of radar to avoid the evil pigeon, STILL, haven t figure it out why they do it?
It s funny, how you can write a useless long post based on a pigeon. The Complaints Office is now closed, but i still invite u to complain in the comments if you feel so, sometimes, u feel better after ;)

CTM: stage 4 humorous speech ;)
Well, this speech is a bit different, and I am ever more proud of this one. I made all the others speechs by myself but this one was a bit different. It was a humorous speech. With the toastmaster international you have 2 type of contests: the Speech contest and the Humorous Speech contest. Starting in your club, then in the district, in the country, and internationally. I think i m funny, I like to make some jokes, I m a big fan of Muriel Robin and Florence Foresti who are 2 talented french comedian. I used to imitate them in France during a diner with my family or friends.
So, for my speech 4 I decided to make a humorous speech, and trust me, this was damn hard, I am always nervous before starting a speech but for this one I was freakin' scared!!!!!! cause you never know if they re gonna laugh at your joke and if they don t laugh the first 20 seconds you are pretty much screwed right! So I made a speech based on a story between a me and boyfriend, and my experience with Diet and nutritionist.
Project (Stage) 4: How to say it
Time: five to seven minutesObjectives:
1) Select the right words and sentence structure to communicate your ideas clearly, accurately and vividly.
2) Use rhetorical devices to enhance and emphasize ideas
3) Eliminate jargon and unnecessary words.
4) Use correct grammar.
Has anyone here been on a diet? You don't have to answer, just give me the look (do the look), well I have been, as a matter of fact, many times. But I remember one in particular:
BF(boyfriend)- Honey, I think we need to talk
ME- Yes dear what is it?
BF- you know that I love you right? I mean no matter what, I really really love you
ME- yessss (look suspiscious)
BF- well, I noticed that over the past year that you gained a little bit of weight
ME (to the public)- oh by the way, I'm not blind, I know i gained weight, however this is the kind of discussion you don't want to have with your boyfriend.
ME - indeed, and
BF- I still find you very attractive, especially when you do...
ME - (cut him before he finishes his sentence) ok ok I got the idea, so-
BF- I have a friend who went to see a nutritionist and she lost 20 pounds like that, in 3 months
ME (to the public)-Well, in the name of love, one week later, I was sitting on a chair waiting for Miss Healthy the nutritionist to meet with me.
NU- oh hello there, so why did u come here?
ME (to the public)Do they really have to ask this question...always, what do you think i'm here for? A manicure? No, i'm here because my boyfriend who loves me, gently reminded me that I have gained weight. But of course you can't say that to this gorgeous, thin, healthy, blonde pageant nutritionist.
ME- well I gained some weight recently
NU- (she looks at me from head to toes) I can see that
(I make the ugly look when i m not happy)
ME - so I would like some advice.
ME (to the public) And here comes the most dramatic moment that every woman fears....
NU- can you please step on the scales
ME - do we really have to do that
NU-yes
ME - can I just tell you how much I weigh ...on average
NU- no
ME - fine (me looking at the scale),(to the nutricionist) ok i m ready (closed my eyes and step on the invisible scale), can u please not tell me how much I weigh, ok, just take that damn number and don t say anything
NU- so your weight is...
ME - ssshshshshshsh, no, shshshshshshs
ME (to the public) so after a series of questions on what I eat, how much I eat, about my food shopping, with whom, for who, how do i cook , they are always sure they find the perfect diet for u, always, like you have never tried them before ;)
NU- u told that your blood type is A, so i have the perfect diet for u
ME (to the public)- of course she has it
So 60 euros later, I come back home looking at my new super diet.
As you can see, or maybe you don't see it, but let me explain (have a doc in my hand with table and chart), you have different types of food: meat, vegetables, oil, oil, cheese, fruits, Here u have 3 categories, the pink one, the beneficial one naming all the food that could help u loose weight, the green neutral category, you don t gain weight but you don t lose weight, and the RED one, blinking like ALERT ALERT, this is the 'AVOID these foods' list. So, you can see a very tiny column of healthy food, and a huuuuuuuuge column of do not eat these, sounds great.
Now as u know I'm French, I do love food. Let's see the list in details:for the meat, i m looking at the healthy pink column and what a surprise - it's empty, and when i go to the Red column: ALL THE MEATS YOU COULD NAME, I was definitively not planning on becoming a vegetarian. It was a very sad day for me.
Now let's talk about the cheese: I am a very big fan of cheese, the healthy cheese option on my new diet: soy cheese, soy cheese? well first of all i ve never understood how they could make cheese with soy, I thought we need milk from real animals to get some cheese, not from vegetables and I look at the avoid list: camembert, brie, blue cheese, milk, butter, omg, i'm getting emotional again.
Ok let' s change category, let's go to the vegetables, since i have to eat them, jeeeezzzzz, even on the pink column I have the worst vegetables ever like dandelions green - it's a flower, why should i eat that, there are even names that i've never heard of, like Alfafa, what the hell is Alfafa? could not even find it on wikipedia, it is apparently a sort of plant, how am i supposed to cook that since I cant use olive oil, vinegar or butter? Tofu, I hate Tofu, this is a nightmare!
So after these 30 terrible mins of reading my blood A diet - let me give you some advice for the future if you decide to go on a diet:
- first of all: never EVER listen to your boyfriend when he starts a conversation by "you know that I love you no matter what", ever
- 2nd of all: don't trust the skinny gorgeous nutritionist with her miraculous diet
- and 3rd of all: you can always count on your best friends, and that's what I did, I called my two best friends Ben and Jerry to bring me some chocolate flavor to make me feel better!
Mister toastmaster.
After that speech, people encouraged me to participate to the Humorous Speech Contest... what do u think, should I?
Positive thought of day: spammed my blog ;)

CTM: stage 3
Objectives:
1) Select a speech topic and determine its general and specific purposes.
2) Organize the speech in a manner that best achieves those purposes.
3) Ensure the beginning, body and conclusion reinforce the purposes.
This speech with accompanied by a preso, i ll try to do some screen shot of my preso on my blog.
MALTA Is there any one here who went to Malta, raised your hands? Good, because today I am going to talk about the islands of Malta. One month ago, I took a flight to Malta during the Good Friday bank holidays. I will do a quick introduction about Malta, then I will tell you the big differences and interesting facts I have noticed during my trip.
Lying 90 km to the south of Sicily, 290km to the north of the African mainland, 1830km to the east of Gibraltar and 1500km to the west of Siria, Malta and its islands might be said to occupy a position in the centre of the Mediterranean. (i ll try to put some pics from my preso)
The group is composed of the 3 inhabited islands of MALTA, GOZO and COMINO, and 3 smallest uninhabited islands of Cominotto, Filfla and St Paul.
The longest distance in Malta in a sout-east/north-west axis is about 27km and the widest distance is 14km.
With a population around 400 000 crowding an area of 320km square, the Maltese islands (picture of the Maltese flag) can clain to form the most densely populated country in Europe. The country's official languages are Maltese and English.
Malta gained independence from UK in 1964, the country joined the European Union in 2004. And recently in January 2008 they changed currency from the Maltese lire to Euro.
Now let s talk about the differences I ve noticed compare to Ireland:
Price: everything is so much cheaper in Malta, for instance I went to a very fancy restaurant in the area called Portamaso where you can see these kind of boats, with very expensive flats.
I spent 35 euros for a bottle of water, half bottle of wine, an entry, a main course, a cappuccino and a tip. Here the main cuisine type is italien. 35 euros, here I went in Dublin to not a fancy but in overall good french restaurant I spent 50 euros.
The number of cats: omg, i have never seen that much cats, called here the Maltese cat, they are everywhere, sleeping on top of the car, in the street, on a stairs, here waiting for his owner to bring some fresh fish (PICS)
The maltese bus: all of them are orange and white, like that, some of them are new, some of them pretty old, like most of the bus I took, and by the way to go from a city to an other I paid 47 cents, here, from Dublin 4 to Dublin 1 it s 1.05E.
The standing taxi fair: there is the same price when you are going from a place to an other place, let s say from the airport to Saint Julians, you go to the taxi point information, you will pay 20.35E and that s it, no matter where u are going in that city, neither if there is traffic it still will be 20.35E
As for the interesting facts I have noticed that there is :
Different type of ports: you have the super rich tourists port with all the yatchs here you have the bateau a voile port and for my favourite the fishing port. I went down to the Xlendi on the Comino island and to the south of Malta to a fishing village called Marsaxlokk, the fishing boats called Maltese Luzzu are very popular, as you can see by their very colourful colour.
And maybe u don t really see that, but on each boat they have the Eye of Malta like here (PIC) which is the eye of Osiris an Egyptian God of the Underworld, to protect fisherman from dying in the sea.
The number and different shapes of church, unbelievable, some ultra modern like this one (PIC), compare to those like that (PIC). They are very catholic there, I went during Good friday and Sunday Saint, on the online of Comino there was a procession where they carried a big status of Jesus, sometimes they even run while carrying it. They are running mess every hour during the day, this the first I ve seen people queuing to go to the church.
The gorgeous beach with light blue water, like on the island of Comino with the Blue Lagoon, the Blue grotto in Malta where u can see the reflection of the water on the cave roof/sky . (PICS)
To conclude this speech I will mention the biggest fact that Dublin and Malta have in common, it is the number of time the weather may changed, the first day I arrived, I got sunny day, followed by a very windy grey sky and finishing by an heavy 20 min rain, I had to run to a small shop as soon as I went out after buying an umbrella it stopped raining!

CTM: stage 2
So as I say on my previous post, I m part of the Toastmaster Club hellfire. I have to do 10 speechs to get the CTM 'Competent Toastmaster' diploma. The stage 2 is called:
Time: five to seven minutes
Objectives:
1) Select an appropriate outline which allows listeners to easily follow and understand your speech.
2) Make your message clear, with supporting material directly contributing to that message.
3) Use appropriate transitions when moving from one idea to another.
4) Create a strong opening and conclusion.
For my second speech I talked about my grandpa that I ve never met actually, but I know him through my mum, I had a powerpoint preso with it, with pictures and map to make my speech more entertaining.
Léonce
Mister Toastmaster, Madam President, fellow toastmaster and welcome guest.
Léonce, was my grand father. Well I never had a chance to met him, he died before I was born. But if there is one thing that my mother is proud of, because she can talk about it forever, it is the reason why my grandpa had to wake up each morning.
Back in the past generations, in France, when a family had sons, the elder one was usually doing the same job as his father and get the properties that belong to the family, the second was working for the army and the 3rd one was working for the church as brother, or father.
My grandpa was the first one of the family and he worked as a ... wine-maker.
Tonight, I m going to make a toast to my grandpa and talk a little bit about his passion in a small village called Chusclan.
At the end of this speech u won t have the knowledge to start your own wine s company but hopefully i will bring a little flavour from where i m from.
So before we can start, to be sure we have a full understanding of what it is to be a wine-maker in Chusclan, we need to travel there. So, lets use our imagination, everybody if you could close your eyes for 10 seconds, let s pretend that today is a beautiful day, blue sky, no cloud, a gigantic sun, u can feel a warm air coming through your face, it s like when u are opening a warm oven... it s a small village, usually quiet, the only thing you can hear is this small insect ... a cicada, and it makes a sound like this kssss kssssssssssssssssssssss, and now the only thing you can see in front of you is a huge grapevine field.
Here we are, welcome to Chusclan,a small village located right here: (see map of france)
On the next slide, you can see a satellite view of Chusclan with the yellow circle, the green circles, so pretty much all around the village you can find a part of the grapevine fields, and then here with the red sqare, u see the cellar where the wine producers are making the wines. (it was on my preso so you can really see it ;)
My grandpa was one of the vineyard owners and wine growers in Chusclan. He and approximately now 100 others are members of The Cave des Vignerons de Chusclan since for the elder one 1943. Cave des Vignerons in english means The Vineyard owners ' cellar.
This implies around 50 individual vineyards, with a total of 1,125 hectares of vines, 950 of them have the AOC quality.
So what is the AOC quality: in 1935 the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) system was born. It gives strict guidelines to the wine industry, for example, the AOC guarantees that when you buy a Bordeaux, the grapes came from the Bordeaux region, they were treated in a certain way, there was a given amount of alcohol in the finished product, and specific grape varieties were used.
These vines from Chusclan come under a number of appellations among them we have Côtes du Rhône Villages Chusclan , Côtes du Rhône Villages Saint-Gervais, Lirac and Côtes du Rhône., the variety most typical of Rhône wines, Rhone which is a river and a county or region in South France and Chusclan is a part of it, Syrah (20%), Carignan (13%), Cinsault (5%) and Mourvèdre (2%). We have also Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Viognier and Roussanne which are the main white grape varieties grown.
Regarding the sales: the cellar sells around 3 million bottles a year, generating a turnover of around 10 million euros, including 40% in exports.
For the Cotes du Rhone Villages Chusclan which is the ones my grand father was dedicated the, there are 13 different wines at the moment red, white and rosé like Les Genets, Les Monticauts, Les Ribieres red, Excellence, Seigneurie de Gicon rosé.
So today to conclude my speech, I m gonna go through my favourite wine a little bit more in details.
Name : Les Genêts
Color : Red
Appellation : Côtes du Rhône Villages Chusclan
Volume : 75 cl
Degree : 14.5 °
Ageing : 2 years
Grape varieties :
Grenache 60% Syrah 25% Carignan 10% Mourverdre 5%
Wine making :
It will stay between 15 to 18 days into the vat (picture) (en cuve),100% traditional processing at controlled temperature, grape stemming (provenant) from selected parcels including my grandpa s one, (show pic) which u can see here. Actually he and his family used to live in front of his grapevine field, one of the best view to wake up the morning.
Tasting notes :
a deep shiny black, beautiful luminosity
Nose: dense and tasty, there are of course plenty of other words to describe the flavour but the French have the tendencie to use really complex combination of words for the nose which is pretty hard to translate in english.
Gourmet advice :
With delicate meat like pigeon or veal.
Awards :
Or Vinsobres 2005 Or Foire d'Uzes, Vinsobres and Uzes are cities in France.
so tonight, I hope, wherever my grandpa is rite now, and lets pretend that he understands english, that I honored him today. Cheers
mister toastmaster, thank u

Toastmaster International: Ice Breaker
Is there anyone here who heard about the Toastmaster International, don t remember if I mentionned it in my blog already but I am part of the Club Hellfire in Dublin since January this year.

What do we do during our 2 hours sessions: we have generally 4 speeches made by members of the club, then we have a debate pro/cons between two members, followed by the topicmaster who is one member of the club who asks questions to the audience who has 2 min to answer it, and to finish each speeches are evaluated by others members. Here you learn to do speech using different techniques and time allowed for it, which help you, at least me, to gain some self confidence delivering speech in front of an audience.
So I decided to share my speeches with you guys, and I hope i can have some feedback, you have to remember that i m french, and I m doing it in english so there is always areas of improvments ;)
My first one was the ice-breaker, you have basically 4 minutes to break the ice and introduce yourself to the Club, here is mine:
Madam Toastmaster, Madam President, Fellow toastmasters and welcome guests.
My name is Cecile, I was born in January 1980.
I am from France, and more particularly from the best part of it, which is south of France. The reason why it s because we have something call... shoot I forgot the name, it did happened in Ireland but rarely though... mmmm.. oh Summer... bright and shinny, great!
Anyway, my dad picked my name Cecile because of one of his favorite s singers, his name was Claude Nougaro. He made a song for his daughter which begin by... and please pardon me for my poor vocal performance.... Cecile .... ma fille! which means Cecile, my daughter.
I m glad he called her Cecile it could have been worst.
Speaking of my father he is a sales director, my mum is nurse, I have one brother, 4 years younger than me, who is a salesperson too.
Now, I think the second week when I came here, Florian and I got two toastmasters magazines, and the one that he gave me was so perfect for me, it was the special Humor issue, and I do love humor, I think I m quite funny well at least I make myself laugh which is a good start. And I will definitively live longer.
So in that magazine I read an interesting article called 'Want to be funny? You can t go wrong if you name that song", ... speakers will used several songs from a famous group or singer to introduce their speech so ... I figured it out that I can try it to describe myself, and because I m living in Ireland I choose U2 of course.
And here are the 5 songs that I selected.
First one: A day without me... It will be so boring, seriously after the ice breaker since you re going to know me, you will be looking forward every Tuesday.
2nd song: I still haven t found what i m looking for: ... true, I kind of figure it out but still ... I am not 100% sure of what will be my career path within the next 10 years, but ... i m working on it.
3rd song: Last night on earth....I think ... I will probably go to the best French restaurant ever and... kiss Brad Pitt.
4th song: Ocean....As i say i m from South of France, was born next to the sea, and I can t really live without it, I always have to go there not necessarelly for swimming, but just watch the sea to get rid of negative feelings, when u are angry, if u have never done that u should try once.
And last song to conclude my ice breaker: Indian Summer Sky, I love to travel, as a matter fact, 3 weeks ago I celebrate my 20th move in 27 years. Every time my dad has a promotion we had to move, so I ve been traveling from south, to north and then north to south again and then... out of nowhere my parents stop moving, I told them ...'are we going to stay in that city forever? OMG. I m going to be so bored ' so when I did my Master degree in Marketing and New Technologies i start moving on my on, from south to Paris, then I went to USA for a year to definitively improve my English, you would not have spoke to me before, then to Cork, Ireland and last year I moved to Dublin, and ... this year ...hopefully I will go to India with my work for two months and enjoy a beautiful summer there.
Madam Toastmaster.
Thank u

Next tag, WHAT again!!!! i told ya this is THE Auto-tagged post ;) The deTAGment by Ceedy.
1) What is the world suddenly decided to rotate in the other direction?
I have no idea if we will see the difference... maybe the first couple of days...
2) Name Three Most Valuable Assets?
Courage, Perseverance, Loyalty
3) If you have the chance, what would you probably say to your beloved one?
by beloved one i m talking about my family and I think they already know it.
4) If you were to be stranded on a deserted island, who are the 3 blog buddies you would take with you?
Good question, probably Gayatri because she is so cool, Raghu because is peaceful and Vicky because he sounds funny, I would have take Nikhil with me if we have alcohol on the island ;)
5) Where is the place that you want to go the most?
India... so wanna go there, since Mazhar came to Dublin as an ambassador from the Hyderabad office, he made me want to go there, see this country, learn from that culture....
6) If you can have 1 dream to come true, what would it be?
Becoming a photographer
7) Till now, what is the moment that you regret the most?
Acting stupid in 97 which pushed my coach to make me play on the field during a handball game (i was normally the goal keeper), because of my stupidity i broke my damn ligaments, it would have been great and save me from many troubles to avoid that damn surgery.
8) What are you afraid to lose the most?
My family....
9) What would you do if you found a briefcase full of money?
woooohhhh, no idea, i will think a LOT, probably during a week at least, i will consult my family, I will probably ending up bring it to the police with maybe the hope to get a reward ;) but hey it would not be a big deal, it s not like i m loosing the money right since it does not belong to me, I will be probably to scare to use it, I ve seen to many movies where u can retrieve the money with numbers, or what if the money belongs to the Mob, I don t wanna get killed!
10) If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
no freakin way, rejection... not good at all for my self confidence
11) List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you
This is the time where i usually skip this part since I auto tagged myself ;) but this time I could say about myself 3 good things ;)
Funny, Talk Talk Talk, sociable ;)
12) What are the requirements that you wish from your other half?
well I don t have an other half but for future reference I ll say be patient for 2, cause i m not... but i m working on it ;)
13) Which type of person do you hate the most?
hmmm, i would not say hate, but i don t appreciate people intolerant, racist, not open mind... the list is pretty long...
14) What is your ambition?
have enough money to live properly, travel, and love (well no need money to love )
15) What is the thing that will make you think someone is a bad person?
well sometimes i m naive, and I don t figure it out right away if the person is bad, but i mean who am i to judge somebody, and i think there is too much criteria to determine who s bad or not.
16) If you could do one thing different in life, what would it be?
Nothing much, just learn from mistakes to not make them twice.
17) Something which made u laugh today (pri's question)
looking at the tourists fighting with their umbrellas while looking at the map to find their way in rainny Dublin
18) How do you deal with a friend who has wronged you ?
depends which friend, i can hold grudges sometimes if it s not a close close friend, if it s my best friend it would be a big shock, i will be sad and angry then i will try to understand why and talk to him/her.
19) How important is love for you to get physically intimate with a person ? Be honest here. Not rational.
well depends of the age, or the mood, i think now that i'm getting older older it s getting more and more important.
20) Name one favorite song of yours. (I guess Solitaires question)
At the moment right now, it s Say (All I need) from OneRepublic among many others, but this is the last album I bought.
Autotagged number 2: checked!
And last but not least, and I promess i m done for today with autotagging myself ;)
5 Things in My Room:
My laptop and my black book notes: can t live without them
The cows family people who knows me, always buy me something around cows why, because I developed a passion for cows 10 years, why? I simply have NO idea whatsoever, so I could decorate my entire house with cows, which i won t for safety reason to keep my future husband home ;)
Minou - the stuff animal who follows me since 1981, yes that s right, 27 years, he does not look as shiny as before but he is still my friend.
DVDs u can find hundreds of them in my room, I like to buy the actual dvd, and the reason why I have that much it s because there is lots of movies i ve seen in french before cause my english really sucks a while ago, so i bought many dvds that i have already seen to re discover them in english, which give me a different perspective of the movie!
Roller skates among the incredible 'organized mess' u can find in my room, I have a pair of rollers, not the new one with one line, i m more old fashion, i have the original rollers with 2+ 2 wheels in leather. Years ago I was doing artistic roller skates (see pic ;), I bought new rollers recently in black.
5 Things in my Bag
way too many things:
my cellphone, feel naked without it, don t understand why we became so independent, I mean before we could meet on time, without a cellphone, now that we have one we are late when meeting somebody!
my black book notes: I started recently to use one, I was tired of using stickies or small piece of papers with numbers on it and no name, or piece u lost because u never put them at the same place!!!!
wallet: my cow wallet, thanks to mum (see previous question to understand my cow problem)
some make up/deodorant: u never know, u might meet somebody, u might need to refresh a bit before to not look to tired after a day of work
My work id: can t go to work if I don t have it
mint gum or something like that
my ipod, see i already named 7 things but I only have 3 things on my wallet to compensate ;)
5 Things in my Wallet
Cinema card- no TV at home so better watch out movies before they go on tv
Credit Cards/laser cards - yeah with ireland u can have a collection of payments cards
Money - and that s it, have enough mess already on my pearse i m not gonna spam my wallet as well!
And the last tiny one that I found on Pavi blog:
Tag Rules

4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge the person who tagged you
This is your life... and it's to precious to waste. Do things when it is convenient, especially if it regards your relationships of choice and who you let in on the "inside". It will yield a much better return on investment ... especially in the dignity department.
... now think about it people ;) as usual i don t tag anybody and u know why ;)
FINALLY!!!! I finished my autotagged post!!!!!! phew!! Now i m wondering how many will read through the ENTIRE post, make a comment if u finish reading it ;)
C ya!
Postive thought of the day: i bought some fruits to do, i m being healthy!
